Studio Process
My work is rooted in traditional goldsmithing and engraving practices that have changed little since the 17th century. I do not use CAD (computer-aided design) or 3D printing or extreme magnification in my work. Each piece is studio work made deliberately, shaped by craft discipline, and guided by precision, restraint, and respect for materials.
The Bench
Work begins at the bench. Design unfolds through drawing, proportion, and hand fabrication in direct connection with metals and gemstones. Pieces develop through touch and technique rather than templates or production systems, resulting in a unique and personalized approach to craftsmanship that enhances the final design.
Hand Engraving
Hand (or “push”) engraving can become part of the object rather than a surface afterthought. Whether added to new work or to client-supplied pieces, engraving reflects the human hand, an unmistakable tactile signature that can endure for generations if properly cared for.
Materials
I select metals and gemstones for integrity, longevity, and ethical sourcing. Traditional alloys and finishes are used for durability and long-term wear. I mostly work in sterling, fine silver, and 18-karat gold. I do plan on experimenting with more modern materials such as stainless steel and titanium and offering them as alternatives in the near future.
Process
All projects begin with a conversation. Execution proceeds deliberately, with attention to proportion, permanence, and workmanship rather than speed or replication. Hand tools and time-tested techniques guide the outcome.
Delivery & Care
Every finished piece is hand-polished. Whether the work involves a new commission, an existing piece receiving additional work, a repair, or a restoration, the same exacting materials and craftsmanship are applied to ensure your jewelry remains as serviceable as it is beautiful.
Once complete, the piece is fully insured and carefully packaged for shipment. Your bespoke creation is prepared to be worn, enjoyed, and passed down for generations.
